The plot

The year is 2895. A crew of spaceships is traveling deep in the Universe to try and reach something that for centuries was thought the human race would never be able to see... the edge of the Universe.

Just as they were reaching their destination, something they had never quite seen before appeared before their eyes...
Hundreds of horrible, impossible monsters were coming out of the edge, and heading towards them!

Gathering all their courage, they must eliminate as many of the monsters as they can, so that they don't have a chance of reaching the nearest human colony.

The basics

You will take control of one of the spaceships from the crew, and you will have to use your skills to survive through endless waves of enemy attacks.

When you first start the game, you will only have 4 ships (you will only take control of one at a time, any other ships will remain in reserve). Your goal is simple, destroy any monster that shows up with your beam, and keep your ship intact.

Every time you get 1000 points (or 500 on certain game modes, check the manual for more details), you'll hear a short jingle. That means, backup has arrived!
You'll get an extra ship in your reserve. Your display can only show a maximum of 6 at a time, but you'll still have as many as you can get.

Each level ends with a boss fight. You get to the end of the level by defeating 15 enemies. The boss can be hard to defeat, specially in later levels, where enemies move faster, but it also rewards you with lots of points.
Be quick and precise! You don't want to get your ship destroyed.

Tips and secrets

If you're having trouble with the game, there are multiple things you can do.
Here are some of them:

• Try playing with the console's switches. The game has multiple settings, and some of them will make for an easier experience!
• Each enemy behaves differently, and each level has a different set of enemies that can appear. You have to learn how they work and react quickly, so you're ready to fight them as soon as they show up!

• Ask a friend for help! You can plug-in a second controller, with which you can control your ship's beam. This can help you if an enemy moves out of the way before you can shoot them!
• Find the secret enemies! They are hard to find and die hard, but they will also reward you with a lot of extra points for your score.
